Last year's contest against Bowling Green featured two high-powered offenses with the Tigers edging the Falcons for a 44-41 win.
This year, both teams were breaking in new coaching staffs. The Tigers easily got Mike Norvell his third win as the head coach, beating Bowling Green, 77-3.
Memphis quarterback Riley Ferguson completed 20-27 passes for 359 yards and 6 touchdowns. He also scored one rushing touchdown for Memphis, which put up a school record tying 56-points by halftime.
Ten different Tigers scored in the win, including Sam Craft, who was playing in his first game of the season.
The Tigers also picked off Bowling Green quarterback James Knapke 3 times, all resulting in eventual touchdowns by Memphis.
Memphis improves to 3-0 on the season. Next week, the Tigers travel to Ole Miss.
