Finally feeling like Fall this week

It's been a long summer, but Mother Nature is finally bringing us our first taste of Fall. We hit record high temperatures this weekend, but our first strong cold front of the season will move into the Mid-South on Monday.

Highs are going to go from the upper 90s on Sunday to the lower 80s on Monday. Unlike our previous cool downs this Summer, this one is expected to stick and temperatures will remain seasonable through next weekend.

Afternoon high temperatures will top out in the upper 70s to lower 80s all week, which is on-par with our average temperature of 82 degrees. However, the Fall weather will be most obvious in the mornings with temperatures in the 50s in many areas by Tuesday morning. Temperatures will bottom out in the lower 50s to lower 60s all week.

This cold front may also be a blessing because of the enhanced rain chances. We are lacking about an inch and a half of rainfall this month, so any rain would be welcome on Monday. However, showers and thunderstorms will be scattered and not widespread. The best rain chances would be in eastern Arkansas. Rain will start early Monday morning in Arkansas and then push east into Tennessee and Mississippi. The front will be south of the area by Monday night.
