MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A man is behind bars, accused of leading police on a chase that reached high speeds and injured an officer on Friday.

According to the police report, a lieutenant saw a driver going well above the posted speed limit on Interstate 240 near the Person Street overpass.  The Toyota Tacoma was changing lanes without using signals and passing cars in all three lanes.

The lieutenant started to follow the truck and reached speeds over 100 miles per hour. The officer was eventually able to stop the driver near Norris Road. However, the driver refused to give the lieutenant any identification or documents. The lieutenant called for backup, and when another officer asked for the driver's license, he refused to hand it over or get out of the car.

The driver then put his car into gear, running over the officer's foot and almost hitting the lieutenant.  The driver sped away and the officers got into their cars and chased him, but eventually lost him.

After searching databases, investigators said the driver was Lee Price III. A warrant was issued for his arrest Friday. He was arrested late Sunday night.
