The Memphis Tigers scored more points this weekend than the Grizzlies scored in their opener last year against Cleveland.
The Grizz scored 76 against the Cavs.
The Tigers blew away Bowling Green by a score of 77-3 at the Liberty Bowl.
Lots of offensive records fall or are tied in an explosion like that. In addition players get some recognition for their work, like UofM quarterback Riley Ferguson, who earned American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors.
In just on half, Ferguson tied the AAC single game mark in touchdowns responsible for with seven.
That includes six touchdown passes and one rushing TD.
"I was just trying to go out there and do what i was coached to do. Just take every play and treat it as its own," Ferguson said. "We were going out there and having a lot of success. But, that wasn't just me, I mean, all 11 guys on the offense are doing their jobs, and that's what made it possible, so shout out to all them."
The Tigers next set their sights on 16th ranked Ole Miss down in Oxford Saturday at 6 p.m.
