A man is accused of stealing a credit card on Beale Street and using it less than a mile away.

At 4 a.m. Sunday, a man said he lost his VISA card on the iconic Memphis street but was able to track his card on his cell phone.

The victim said someone was using the card at Club 152. Officers went into the club and asked the bartenders who had used the card. They then pointed to the suspect, Cedric Bell.

When officers walked up to Bell, he threw the VISA card on the floor. Officers picked it up and saw the victim's name on it.

Officers said Bell used the card at Club 152 and at Blues City Cafe, a total of $725 in charges. Officers said he also signed the victim's name to one of the receipts.

Bell is charged with forgery, fraudulent use of a credit card over $500, and identity theft.
