COVINGTON, TN (WMC) -

A local Boy Scout received special recognition from Covington's mayor after he completed a project that is expected to benefit many Tipton County residents and visitors.

Eagle Scout Stephen Patrick Scott was given a Certificate of Appreciation by Covington Mayor Justin Hanson during the Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting this week.

Scott completed a footbridge on the nature trail at the Tipton County Museum.

Hanson was joined by Director of Parks and Recreation Joseph Mack, Chairman of the Tipton County Museum Board Vernon Pairmore, and Director of the Tipton County Museum Barrie Skoda Foster to present the certificate to Scott.

Scott's family, friends, and members of the community were also present for the presentation of the certificate.

"If you have not yet been on the footbridge, make sure you see it soon," Hanson wrote on a Facebook post. "The weather is now perfect for walking on the Nature Trail."
