MOSCOW, TN (WMC) -

Police said a breakup turned violent when a woman told her boyfriend that she no longer wanted to be in a relationship with him.

According to police, the victim said her live in boyfriend, Larry Harris, started beating her in the head and body with a hammer when she broke up with him.

"I said it's time for you to go. I don't want you anymore," Deborah Reynolds said.

Reynolds said she had dated Harris for 20 years, but she had enough. In February, she woke up and found him inside her apartment.

"He came in and hit me right here in my face," she said. "He took the hammer and he was beating me in my back and I was scooting, I was scooting trying to get away."

She yelled for her daughter, Amy, and that's when she said Harris turned on Amy.

Reynolds' daughter tried to intervene and stop him from attacking her mother. However, police said he turned the hammer on her and started beating Amy with a hammer.

"He came at me in the hallway with the hammer," Amy said. "He stomped me five times in my stomach. He kept hitting me on both sides of my head."

The woman and her daughter both received injuries to the head and arms. They were taken to Regional Medical Center and received staples in their heads to close the wounds.

The girlfriend also received a broken finger in the attack, has difficulty walking and keeping food down, and is being kept at the hospital for physical therapy.

The attack happened in the home the couple shared in the 100 block of Houston in Moscow, Tennessee. Neighbors called the police and Harris took off. It took months to arrest and charge Harris because he was hiding in Fayette County. Harris was arrested Thursday.

Harris was charged with aggravated assault and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
