GERMANTOWN, TN (WMC) -

A Germantown reserve police officer was involved in one of two road rage incidents in Germantown Thursday morning.

According to Germantown Deputy Police Chief Rodney Bright, a reserve officer for the department showed a gun during a dispute on the road.

Bright said the reserve officer has been taken off any assignments for the department until the investigation into the incident is completed. The identity of the Germantown reserve officer has not been released.

"I feel that's not a good way to use your weapon as a law enforcement officer," Landon Byrd, Germantown resident, said. "I feel like your weapon should only be used in self defense or if those means are necessary. You shouldn't just have that out."

In the other case, investigators are still trying to determine the identity of the individual.

Both cases of road rage are still under investigation and no charges have been filed.
