Memphis police arrested a man accused of stripping naked when they asked to search him.

Police said they responded to a disturbance on East Holmes Road on Friday morning.

When they arrived, a victim told police Cortavius Johnson had several burglary warrants and had punched her in the face and chest after an argument.

Police said Johnson started cursing and yelling at the victim and police, causing neighbors to come outside.

Police told Johnson to put his hands up and search Johnson for a weapon. That’s when police said Johnson pulled his pants down while screaming “Look at my d---, I don’t have nothing!”

Officers then took Johnson, who swung at officers while they were trying to make the arrest.

According to the affidavit, two officers hurt their knee during a struggle and one hurt his elbow.

Officers used a chemical agent on Johnson while taking him into custody.

Johnson was taken to the hospital, but had no visible injuries. He was then taken to jail.

Johnson is charged with three counts of assault, disorderly conduct, domestic assault, evading arrest, indecent exposure, and resisting official detention.
