Two people are in custody following a home invasion and a police chase in Memphis. Police said the home invasion happened on Yale Avenue and then continued to the Pendleton Apartments, where officers caught two of the three suspects.

Memphis Police Department said a woman called after a group of men broke into her home while she was sleeping, assaulted her, robbed the house, and stole her car.

The robbery happened around 11:15 p.m. Sunday.

"It's a very good neighborhood, religious schools, private schools, seems to be a pretty good neighborhood," Phillip Emmanuel, who lives nearby, said. "It's kind of surprising."

About an hour later, officers tried to pull over a vehicle matching the description of the victim's stolen car at Deadrick and Pendleton streets. The driver of the car refused to stop. Eventually, three people bailed out of the car and scattered. Officers were able to track down and arrest two of them.

A 15-year-old and 16-year-old are in MPD's custody. The third person believed to be involved is not yet in custody.

"She is like a grandmother or something like that," Jessica Albarado said about the robbery victim.

The woman was taken to the hospital with injuries, but she's expected to make a full recovery.

Neighbors are concerned about the woman they consider "family."

"We wanted to cry because we love her so much," one neighbor said.

Neighbors said there have been a string of car break-ins recently, too.
