MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

The Memphis Tigers have to regroup quickly after suffering their first loss of the season at 14th Ranked Ole Miss.

The Tigers moved the ball for 474 yards and 28 points against the Rebels, but turned it over four times and gave up more than 600 yards to Ole Miss.

The Rebels capitalized on Tiger miscues for 48 points.

Memphis Head Coach Mike Norvell was matter of fact about his team's result after practice Monday.

"We can be really good when we go out there and execute and you know, if we own the football, if we don't hurt ourselves with penalties, if we get lined up and just go out there and execute our assignment, we got a chance to be a good football team. If we don't, we could put ourselves in situations that make it difficult," Norvell said.

It's a short week for Memphis.

The Tigers open American Athletic Conference play Thursday night at 7 p.m. against Temple at the Liberty Bowl.

The Game will be nationally televised on ESPN.
