TSSAA: No violations for Trezevant football team, season resumes

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The defending Tennessee AA State Champions' football season is back on after no violations were discovered for the team.

Trezevant High School's principal and staff uncovered violations during an internal audit and immediately reported them to TSSAA last week. In addition, the school announced the team will be forfeiting all the games that had been played and any in the future until the completion of the investigation.

Now,TSSAA said there were no violations discovered at the conclusion of the investigation and the team will resume its season. The District said it is still working to complete its investigation.

The school released a statement Tuesday that said:

"The District is diligently working to complete its investigation at Trezevant High School; therefore, no details about the outcome of the District's investigation are available at this time.  The TSSAA, however, has reported that no violations have been found involving the Trezevant football team, so practices have resumed and the team will play out the remainder of the 2016 football schedule.  The only game this season the team will have to forfeit is the September 29th game against Memphis Academy of Health Sciences."
