Memphis police are investigating a shooting and robbery in South Memphis that left one person in critical condition.

The shooting happened in the 1600 block of Rayner Street near East Person Avenue around 3 a.m.

A woman told police she and another woman went inside the house. A short time later, someone knocked on the door. The two women answered the door and a woman came into the home. Moments later, two men with guns rushed in and made the two women get on the floor.

Officers said a third person was in the back room and walked in the front upon hearing the commotion. The suspects made that person get on the floor as well.

Police said the suspects took money from the victims and shot one of them several times before leaving the house.

Amber Green said her father, Eric Logan, was shot multiple times after the men burst through the door.

"It was scary,” Green said. “You wouldn't think it would happen to him, because he’s so friendly."

Green said her father was in the home with two friends and was shot trying to protect them.

"He pushed the person outside just to get them outside, because he didn't want anyone else to get hurt,” she said. He said he lost his balance and fell when they shot him again."

Paramedics found Logan outside under a tree. His daughters said he is doing OK, but will be undergoing surgery on his leg.

“He’s strong,” Logan’s daughter Tava Tate said. “He’s a fighter.”

No arrests have been made. Logan’s daughter’s what the men to be caught for what they have done.

"For somebody to do this to him, they have a problem," Green said.
