Blytheville PD: Man attacks woman for refusing sexual advances

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (WMC) -

Blytheville Police Department is on the hunt for a man they said attacked a woman when she refused his sexual advances.

Police said Duan Harris is connected to an incident that happened in the 1100 block of Willow Street on October 1 in Craighead County.

Investigators said a 29-year-old woman was attacked, beaten, and sexually assaulted. She was taken to UAMS hospital in Little Rock by helicopter for treatment.

Police said the victim said she knows Harris and they had been “talking” for a while. She said she asked Harris to come over and asked him for money. Harris gave her money and then begin making sexual advances towards her. The victim said she rejected Harris. That’s when he became angry and attacked her.

Officers said Harris is currently out on bond and awaiting trial for a similar offense that happened in Craighead County. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.
