SHELBY COUNTY, TN (WMC) -

Shelby County Sheriff's Office is looking for five people they said are responsible for multiple auto burglaries in Shelby Farms.

The newly renovated park includes a center to host cool events, a splash pad for kids, and an outdoor stage area, and draws in people of all ages. Unfortunately, it has evidently attracted a few thieves as well.

Deputies said five people broke into cars parked in Shelby Farms, stole credit cars from the cars, and used them.

Surveillance pictures show five different thieves walking out of stores where they just used the stolen credit cards.

SCSO deputies said this is only five of the 39 times cards were stolen and used since April.

Deputies said they've had thefts like this in all areas of the park, such as near the Agricenter, the horse stables, and even by the Wolf River. They hope these smash and grabs will be a wake up call for others to leave your valuables at home.

The Shelby Farms Park Conservancy issued a statement Wednesday.

"We're grateful for a strong partnership with Shelby County Sheriff's Office to ensure visitor safety. Remember to help SCSO by parking smart--and keep purses, computers, or valuables out of sight."

If you have any information that could lead to an arrest, please contact Detective Kay at 901-237-5146, or call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
