City-wide event to help residents sign up for insurance coverage

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Mid-Southerners who are losing their healthcare coverage with the Marketplace at the end of next year will have an opportunity to ensure they have medical coverage past the termination date of Marketplace.

Monumental Baptist Church and 901 Healthcare will host a city-wide enrollment event Saturday, October 8, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. at Monumental Baptist Church.

The church is located at 704 South Parkway. 

The event will assist people understand the health insurance options and help them enroll in coverage for 2017. 

Although the event is open for everyone, citizens enrolled in a BlueCross BlueShield or a United Healthcare plan should attend because their coverage will be ending December 31, 2017.

The event will provide trained enrollment specialists to help with the citizen's insurance needs.

For those planning to attend and apply for coverage, you should bring information about your household (including names, addresses, SSN's or immigration documents), employer and income information for each member of the household, and information about current insurance.
