MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Memphis police are searching for four people they believe are involved in a robbery and kidnapping of a man.

Kem Gray told officers he was sitting in his vehicle at the red light at the intersection of Park Avenue and Highland Street when the robbery happened.

He told police a dark colored vehicle pulled behind him, and one person got out of the vehicle and into the passenger seat of his vehicle. He said the individual pointed a gun at him and forced him to go multiple ATMs through the city and get money.

Gray took that drive everyday while on his way to the University of Memphis campus, but this drive was part of a day he will never forget.

Gray said the gun was constantly pointed at him.

"It was always to my mid-section, lower body," Gray said.

He said after the robber told him to drive to the closest ATM, he went to the Bank of American in the 3000 block of Park Avenue. But, there was a problem.

"For some reason, the ATM didn't work, so they asked me to take him to another location," he said.

They went to the location on Winchester near Getwell. That's where he was able to get the robber some money.

After he handed the money over, the gunman also took his watch and phone before getting out of the car.

After getting the money from the ATMs, the person got out of the man's vehicle and back into the dark colored vehicle and left.

"When he told me drive off, I took off as fast as I could and I was just praying and thanking God that I was OK," Gray said.

Gray said the incident completely shocked his family.

"My mom just totally lost it," he said.

But, he said it also has inspired him to share a message with the alleged gunmen. He wants them to put the guns down and walk away from the path they are on.

"It's really not that crucial," he said. "Do what you know is right."

Gray was not injured in the attack.

If you have any information on the identity of these individuals believed to be involved in this robbery and kidnapping, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
