MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

If you missed the Perseid meteor shower in August, there will be several other opportunities to see meteor showers in October and November.

The annual Orionids meteor shower will take place October 2 to November 7, but the peak will be on October 21. However, the bright moon will likely make it hard to see the the estimated 20 meteors per hour. October's full moon rises on the 15th, so you will want to keep an eye on the sky for meteors before dawn in the next two weeks.

You will have another chance to catch a show with the Leonids meteor shower in November. It will peak on the 17th, which is only a few days after the full moon for the month. Previous Leonids showers have been esteemed as the best, so hopefully this year's will be a winner for us. However, the Leonids in recent years usually have 10-15 meteors. The best time to view will be after midnight to the pre-dawn hours on the morning of November 17.
