Shooting victim found near 2 house fires, church fire

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Memphis police officers are investigating after several incidents happened within a few blocks in a North Memphis neighborhood.

First, officers were called to a shooting near the intersection of Faxon Avenue and Decatur Street.  Police found multiple shell casings in the area.

Then, emergency crews found the victim of this shooting a few blocks away on Greenlaw Avenue while responding to a house fire on the street. He was taken to the hospital. His condition is currently unknown.

Around the same time, several buildings on Keel Avenue went up in flames.  A church caught fire near the intersection of Keel Avenue and Crockett Street. One fire near the intersection of Keel Avenue and Speed Street left a home destroyed.

It is unclear at this time whether the shooting and fires are connected.
