MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Mid-South voter registration deadlines are rapidly approaching.

The deadline to vote in Mississippi has already passed, but Arkansas and Tennessee residents still have a few more hours to register.

Arkansas residents must register by the end of the business day on Monday, October 10.  Tennessee residents have until Tuesday, October 11 to register to vote.

“We want to make this last appeal to people to register to vote now. It’s unfortunate when a person shows up at the operations center and discovers it’s not possible to register and vote the same day,” Linda Phillips, administrator of elections for the Shelby County Election Commission, said.

Applications are available online here. You can also print out the form and mail it to 150 Washington Avenue, Memphis, TN 38103 or to 980 Nixon Drive, Memphis, TN 38134.  Mail-in applications must be postmarked by October 11.

People who are already registered to vote are encouraged to check to make sure their registration is current and correct.  You can also vote early, starting October 19.

“Please vote early,” Phillips urges. “You’ll save time and there are locations across the county.”

You must vote in your assigned precinct on Election Day.
