Memphis police said two teens have been shot in the 1800 block of Lauderdale Street.

According to police, the shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. Monday night.

MPD said one has been transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The other victim has been transported in non-critical condition.

"Are  y'all crazy. Are ya'll really going crazy," one woman in the neighborhood said. "If it's that serious where you have to pull out a pistol and shoot people. What is it that's going on that ya'll can't work out."

The woman didn't want to be named, but she said she is fed up with police having to show up after people start shooting at each other. The shooting at Lauderdale and Rosewood played out as children were out playing.

Neighbors two blocks away at McMillan and Shawnee said they started hearing a lot of gunshots in the morning. They then heard gunshots around 6:30 p.m.

"13 shots went off. Two people were shot," witness Samuel Cummings said. "One in the leg. One was hit in the stomach."

Evidence markers were all over the middle of the neighborhood as police continued to investigate what happened.

"I'm really surprised 'cause stuff like this don't usually happen on this side," neighbor Ann Waters said. "In other parts of south Memphis, but not the parts we stay."

Neighbors said they just wish it would all stop.

The shooting suspects are reportedly in a burgundy vehicle.
