MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

There are just hours left to register to vote in Tennessee.

The deadline is Tuesday, October 11 at 4:30 p.m., so if you plan to vote, you need to turn in your paperwork as soon as possible.

Staff members at the Shelby County Election Office said registering can be simple and quick, as long as the application is filled out completely and accurately.

The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity said this election is critical for Memphis and the Mid-South, and they are encouraging African-American voters to head to the polls.

Tuesday, the group will hold a forum called Black Votes Matter at the Benjamin Hooks Library at 6 p.m. They'll discuss issues critical to the African-American community.
