MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Inside the courtroom Sharita Oliver, who was dressed in a prison jumpsuit, stood before a judge Tuesday.

Cellphone video shows Oliver in a Chevy Cobalt hitting the gas, instead of the brake, and running over several children. A 1-year-old is still in the hospital in a full body cast with a cracked skull and a broken hip. Oliver faces various charges, including attempted second-degree murder and aggravated assault.

"My sister didn't mean to hurt nobody. She didn't try to kill nobody," Oliver's sister, Sanya Oliver, said.

Outside the courtroom, her older sister Sanya defended her sister's actions. She claims it started when the victim's son tried to take her daughter's jolly ranchers. Sanya Oliver claims she tried to break up the fight. That's when the victim's family attacked her daughter.

"They chased us and was saying they were going to kill us," Oliver said. "And my sister was scared because they were hitting her car."

Cellphone video also shows a woman hitting a car with a pipe. It's unclear if she will face any charges.

Sharita Oliver is due back in court October 18. Her bond is set at $300,000.
