Man charged in connection with hoax explosives

A 36-year-old man from Hardin County has been arrested in connection with the hoax explosives found in his home during a fire Saturday.

Joshua Steakley has been charged with one count of prohibited weapons after firefighters responded to a fire at 250 Burnt Church Road in Savannah, Tennessee. Authorities discovered two safes in the home, and believed both contained explosive devices.

After the Special Operations personnel from the Tennessee Highway Patrol responded, they determined the safes did not contain explosive devices. It was determined that Steakley was responsible for the hoax.

Steakley was booked in the Hardin County Jail on October 11 and has a $100,000 bond.
