Mother accused of hitting sons with extension cord

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A woman is accused of hitting her 5-year-old and 8-year-old sons with an extension cord.

On August 25, a witness called police and said they heard a mother yelling and children crying.

According to the police report, officers talked to Shondrya Collins, who said she had been yelling and "gave her kids a whipping."

Collins' 5-year-old son told officers that he wet himself and was disciplined. He had injuries on his arms and legs. He told police his mother whipped him with a brown extension cord.

The 5-year-old also said his mother whipped him and his 8-year-old brother for not cleaning the bathroom, living room, or his mother's bedroom.

Collins was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse and aggravated child endangerment.
