MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A liquor store owner has been missing for more than a week, and the last person to see him alive is now dead.

Sanjay Patel was last seen last week leaving his liquor store. His family has no clue where he is.

“We just want to find him safe and good,” Sanjay’s son, Raj Patel, said.

Patel was last seen October 3. The last person seen with him was Marcus Perry, a regular at his store.

Perry was found dead Tuesday at his home in Bartlett. According to police, Perry’s brother found him after not being able to reach him for several days.

According to an incident report, Perry’s brother had to break a window to get inside the home. The report said he found his brother inside of his bedroom unresponsive with his face down and a gun in his hand, pointed toward his head.

Perry’s death has added another layer of worry for Patel’s family. The one person who had clues about the man’s whereabouts is now dead.

“He's gone; he's passed away now, so I don’t know what kind of condition my dad could be in,” Raj Patel said.

Surveillance video shows Patel leaving his liquor store with Marcus Perry in Perry’s Ford F-150.

“Marcus was a good person overall, so I’m really sad about that as well,” Raj said.

Patel’s family said they do not believe Perry had any role in their father’s disappearance and hope someone will come forward and say something.

“Anybody know anything, a little bit of clues you can find out, just please let us know,” Raj said.
