The race for the White House has turned to a mud fight as both presidential candidates are on the defensive for things that happened years ago.

A soap opera actress that has been put in the front of the fight just as her movie premieres in Memphis this week.

However, the movie premiere has gained some extra attention after lewd comments Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made several years ago on the Access Hollywood bus about soap opera actress Ari Zucker.

Zucker did not make the trip this week as the movie "Shattered" premieres at the Paradiso. WMC Action News 5 was told Zucker was advised not to travel in light of the Trump controversy.

She did, however, talk to NBC this week about the comments the presidential hopeful made about her.

In 2005, Zucker greeted Trump and then-Access Hollywood Host Billy Bush as they got off the bus. As Trump got off the bus, while wearing a microphone, he made some lewd comments about Zucker. However, Zucker said she wants to teach her daughter how to help others when you come through a difficult situation.

"I want to teach my daughter that if she ever gets out in a situation like mommy is right now that she will hold her head high as well and if she has learned anything, how can she share this with other women and young girls," Zucker said in a telephone interview with NBC Wednesday.
