A man is behind bars after a woman told police he prevented her from leaving her home and beat her for hours.

According to the police affidavit, the woman told police she picked up Hosea Jackson, 33, last week and he has been living with her for approximately a week. But, she said things turned violent on Thursday, October 13.

The woman told police Jackson began slapping her, choking her, and assaulting her at approximately 2 a.m. She said she was prevented from leaving the apartment, and he even forced her to call in sick to work.

According to the police affidavit, the woman told police Jackson even went as far as to sleep in front of the door in order to prevent her from leaving the apartment.

The woman also told police she was threatened by Jackson.

He "told her that if she called police they would both leave in a body bag," according to the police affidavit.

However, police said they could only discover one visible injury on the woman.

"Victim did not have any visible injuries but a black eye from a previous assault by suspect," according to the affidavit.

Jackson is in jail on a $70,000 bond and is due in court on October 19.
