MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Two adults have gone missing in the Mid-South recently, but they're not your typical missing person's cases.

Keila Freeman and Sam Patel have both recently disappeared, but under different circumstances.

The missing poster is still up on a pole in the Hickory Hill neighborhood where Freeman, the mother of two young children, disappeared seemingly without a trace just over a month ago.

"This is a very sad case," neighbor Devonte Munn said. "She was a nice lady. When I would walk by her house, she would wave at me and stuff."

Freeman's husband told investigators he last saw her when she arrived home around 3:30 a.m.

Randall Freeman is now sitting in jail on an arson charge. He was seen the day before his wife disappeared on security video throwing a flaming object at a home, approximately a mile and a half away from the home he shared with his wife.

Last week, investigators broke up a concrete slab looking for Freeman, but found nothing. Her husband, who has not been charged in her disappearance, worked in the area.

In Cordova, another mystery has investigators working to determine what happened to a businessman.

"It's somebody we saw everyday, when we'd come out and smoke our cigarettes," neighbor Daniel Brown said. "He's right here smoking his cigarettes."

Sam Patel owns 5 Star Wine and Liquor Store. He disappeared October 3 and was last seen on surveillance video getting into a Ford F-150 with Marcus Perry.

Perry is described as a customer and someone that hangs around the shopping center. Even stranger for investigators, Perry was found dead Tuesday in his Bartlett home, not far from the liquor store.

"It's kind of scary honestly."

Patel's family said they are very worried because he would not just take off. Keila Freeman's family said the same thing about the missing mother.

If you know anything about the disappearance of Patel or Freeman, call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
