La Paz, Bolivia (WMC) -

Hundreds of motorcycle riders met high in the Andes of Bolivia Saturday, looking to set a record. About 800 bikers gathered in the Bolivian city of La Paz for a trip to the top of a mountain outside the city. They were hoping to break the Guinness world record for largest biker meet-up at 15-thousand feet above sea level. Bikers from about 15 different countries rode through La Paz and on to the summit of a mountain peak called La Cumbre.

Event organizers said the motorcade also included the largest gathering of police on bikes, about 142 police riders. Results have to be certified by Guinness to be declared a world record.
