Bartlett Police Department believes the man who went missing from his Hickory Hill liquor store is dead.

The front door of Patel's liquor store has been locked all day and his family is full of emotions after learning their father, who has been missing for almost two weeks, could possibly be dead.

"We've been worried like what could have possibly happened," Patel's son said.

Memphis Police Department issued a City Watch for Sanjay Patel, who was last seen October 3 with Marcus Perry, a regular at Patel's store.

Perry was found dead at his Bartlett home on October 11.

Tuesday, Bartlett police said evidence found on Perry's phone suggested that Patel was dead. Officers then executed a search warrant at Perry's house and found more evidence that Patel died. Police are not releasing specific details about what they found on Perry's phone or inside his home.

Investigators are not sure where Patel's body is, but his family members have been notified that MPD believes he is dead.

"It does kind of hurt because that's our neighbor," Daniel Brown said.

"From what I knew him, he was a good man," Silas Amos, who visited Patel's liquor store, said. "Full of life. Always laughing."

It is for that reason that so many people said Perry wouldn't just go missing. His family and friends are praying for answers.

"Anyone know anything, clue, or anything, you may find out just please let us know," Patel's son said.
