Memphis Police Department identified the FedEx employee who was shot and killed in the 500 block of East Mallory Avenue.

Police said a man shot and killed Royces Givens, 32, while she sat in her car at a gas station.

The shooter then left the scene and has not been captured or identified.

"At first I just didn't believe it. Like it was impossible that it was her," Royces' sister, Carleen Givens, said. "It just became a reality that it really was her. I just felt numb, cold. I wanted to know why."

Carleen said Royces was a quiet girl who loved animals and was proud of her long dreadlocks. She doesn't understand who would want to hurt her sister.

This isn't even the first tragedy the Givens family has had to face this year. Carleen and Royces' brother died of a heart attack in February.

Royces is the 182 homicide victim in Memphis in 2016.

Her family is worried her death will come and go without any resolution.

"We don't even have any faith in the police department or nothing. I just really feel like she's just going to be another cold case," Carleen said.

If you have any information that could help police track down Royces' killer, call Memphis Police at 901-545-COPS.
