Officers serving warrants discovered more than they expected when they went to a house in Orange Mound. Instead of the man they were originally looking for, they found three men, weapons, and drugs. They also found a suspect wanted for a frightening crime.

"They're not violent. they are just living their life," said the mother of one of the men.

The mother, who did not want to be identified, said she is the mother of Christopher Noddy. Roddy is one of three men charged with having 10 assault rifles and handguns, marijuana, and pills.

"Not like, they're trying to make it like they're a big time cartel," she said.

The men were in Roddy's mother's house when deputies came by looking for Roddy's brother. She said Roddy's brother doesn't live there.  That's when officers found the drugs and weapons. One of the assault rifles was in a dog house.

Investigators said Roddy let the officers in and that's when they found the drugs and weapons. The woman said the men are life long friends.

"They weren't doing anything wrong."

But one of the men, LaShawn Shannon, was wanted for a very scary crime. Roddy's mother said she was not aware of the warrant.

In March investigators said Shannon and two other men went to a house and terrorized a man who lived there.

One of the victims said he was forced at gunpoint inside a garage where he was held captive. He was told to strip, then a gun was put in his mouth and he was pistol whipped. The man's cousin was carjacked. She was threatened and driven around. She finally jumped out of her car a couple of miles from the home.

“It's very shocking down the street and I don't know nothing about it," neighbor Rickey Love said.

The woman who was carjacked said LaShawn Shannon took her and her cousin's phones.

Police apparently never found the man they were originally searching for.
