Nearly 50,000 people have voted in Shelby County

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

After just three days of early voting in Tennessee, nearly 50,000 people in Shelby County have already voted.

Early voting began on October 19, and every day, more people have turned out to the polls to vote, culminating in 15,249 people voting Friday.

Shelby County Election Commission said so far, 46,796 Shelby County residents have voted in the 2016 election.

Early voting runs Monday-Saturday until Thursday November 3. Click here to learn when and where you can vote.
