MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

The new lights on the Harahan Bridge put on a show Sunday night.

Just over 24 hours after the opening of Big River Crossing, the largest pedestrian bridge over the Mississippi River, the Harahan Bridge showed off its brand new light system.

The lights cost several million dollars, but they were completely paid for by anonymous donors. Not a dime of taxpayer money was spent on the lights, according to City of Memphis attorney Charlie Newman.

The bridge will be lit in "Architectural White" most days of the year, but on special occasions or holidays, the bridge can be specially programmed.

Sunday, the team in charge of the lights gave a little preview of what the lighting system can do.
