BATESVILLE, MS (WMC) -

A Batesville Police officer spent time Sunday buying ice cream for children in the neighborhood he patrols.

Viewers on Facebook sent video and pictures of the officer buying ice cream from an ice cream truck in the area.

They said the officer bought all of the children a treat.

"Now that's love here in the small town of Batesville, MS," Sharon Jones Anderson said.

In one of the videos, a young girl jumps in front of the camera, holding her ice cream, and says, "Police are not killers; they are saviors."

Batesville Police Department identified the officer as Eddie Flores. WMC Action News 5 is working on talking to him about what moved him to do this act of kindness.
