MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A school bus and a day care bus crashed in front of Cordova Elementary School.

A Shelby County Schools spokesperson said the school bus and Learning Tree Daycare bus collided as children were being dropped off at the school. There were 17 kids on the school bus.

"I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt," parent Dave Reynolds said. "If anyone got hurt, it would be a tragedy."

The learning center said all the children on board the day care van were OK. As for the 17 children on the school bus, Shelby County Schools representative said the children suffered no visible injuries and their parents were immediately contacted.

According to SCS, two of the children were rushed to the hospital as a precaution. Two more children were picked up by their parents.

The rest of the children went back to class. They may have been a little shaken, but they were otherwise OK. The drivers of the two vehicles were OK as well.

Despite the accident, parents said they are not afraid to send their kids to school on a bus.

"Accidents happen," Reynolds said. "I don't think it's anything that's major. I would not worry about it."

Investigators continue to look into the cause of the accident.
