A Mid-South school is putting an educational twist on Halloween by creating The Historical Halloween Project.

The Maria Montessori School has prepared this month-long project aimed at helping students learn more about their history.

Instead of the traditional super hero or monster costumes, students are required to dress up as a historical figure.

Students will research and write a report on the figure of their choice, then dress up as that person and present their reports to the entire school.

The goal is for students ages 3 to 13 to learn more about their family lineage all while having fun.

This project is a way to for the school to show students that celebrating Halloween can be both entertaining and educational.

The event will be held at The Montessori School Amphitheater on Friday, October 28 from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
