MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Memphis police are searching the area for a child that may be missing.

According to police, a child told them that a black SUV pulled up near him on Elvis Presley Boulevard. The boy was able to run away.

The boy told police that another child in the area may have been abducted by the same person.

Michael Cooperwood was the person who picked up the phone and called 911.

"I knew he was in trouble," Cooperwood said. "I knew some type of trouble going on with him when he got to me, because of the reaction that he had. He was out of breath and nervous and shaking."

Cooperwood said he was outside on the driveway when the boy approached him and told him what happened. The boy said there were two men inside the SUV and they had circled around him several times before trying to take him.

Police have not confirmed an abduction. They do not have a missing persons report, but they are searching the area as a precaution.

Police have been going door-to-door talking with neighbors and looking for any possible surveillance cameras in the area that might have captured the incident on video.
