A Shelby County jury convicted former Memphis Police Department officer Darrell Malone of a 2013 rape.

In April 2013, Malone raped a woman at his apartment. He had been fired from the police department two months earlier.

Malone's accuser took the stand Tuesday and described what happened the night Malone raped her.

"He invited me up to his apartment, he then ripped off my clothes," the victim said. "I told him stop, I don't want this."

Wednesday, his attorneys questioned whether she was in her right mind when she filed the police report. Her counselors argued she had a form of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder from her experience of being raped by Malone.

Malone sat in court, staring forward, for the three days of his court trial. At no time during the three day trial did he speak on his own behalf; he let his attorney speak for him. They had a very different version of what happened that night.

"She did leave his laptop in my car. I let her have it back," Malone's defense attorney said, regarding Malone's version. "She was there five minutes and she was gone."
