Memphis Police Department said a registered sex offender was found alone with four children Thursday morning.

According to the police report, Stacy Pratt pulled his car in front of a home on Rosewind Circle and four children got in his car. The children are 5, 6, 7, and 9 years old.

Officers pulled him over, and the woman who hired him was called to the scene. She said she hired Pratt to use her car to take the children to school.

Pratt did not have proper identification on him, as required by all sex offenders.

Pratt was named a violent sexual offender in March 2016 following a conviction in Saginaw County, Michigan in 1998 for sexual crimes involving a child under 13-years old.

As a violent sex offender, the law prevents Pratt from being around children unsupervised.

Neighbors said they had no idea Pratt had such a past.

"I wouldn't want my kids around this man at all," Lorenzo Johnson said. "I've been living over here for a year, and I have kids. I would like to get him removed from the neighborhood."

Johnson has an idea on how to deal with Pratt being in the neighborhood.

"I would get out there honestly and put some signs out that say he's a sex offender," Johnson said.

Pratt has made bond and is no longer in jail.
