MPD: Jealousy leads to shooting in Downtown

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Two people were injured in a shooting in Downtown Memphis, according to Memphis Police Department.

The shooting happened on Lt. George W. Lee Avenue and Second Street, near Beale Street, around 2 a.m.

Police said they were on Beale Street when they heard gunshots coming from the area of Second Street and Lt. George W. Lee Avenue.

Investigators said the two victims, two 38-year-old men, were walking on Second Street when they saw an attractive woman and began talking to her. The woman’s girlfriend became jealous and began arguing with the victims.

Officers said a man with the women pulled out a gun and began shooting at the victims.

Both victims were taken to Regional Medical Center in non-critical condition.

Police said no arrests have been made as of yet.
