MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

The Grizzlies avoided another slow start and picked up their second win of the season at FedExForum over the Wizards, 112-103 in overtime.

After two straight games of surrendering 30+ points in the first quarter to start the season, Memphis limited the Wiz to just 22 in the first.

Memphis’ streak of hot shooting continued, and the team drained 48 percent of their shots from behind the three-point line.

Marc Gasol, supposedly on a minutes limit, shot lights-out from the behind the arc, draining four of his six attempts for a 20 point, 10 assist double-double.

Mike Conley added a double-double of his own, dropping a game-high 24 points to go with 11 assists in his best game of the year.

Zach Randolph continued his campaign to win the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award. Z-Bo sank 10 of his 16 shots for 22 points to go with seven rebounds and three assists.

Vince Carter, the NBA’s oldest player, showed he can still shoot with the young guns. Vinsanity shot 5-of-6 (all three-pointers) for 18 points off the bench in 32 gritty minutes.

John Wall led the Wiz with 22 points and 13 assists, but the Wiz were limited to just three late points in overtime.

Tony Allen sat out once again. The Grindfather has yet to make his season debut.

The Grizzlies moved to 2-1 on the season. They’ll take Monday off to head to Minneapolis for their next game against the Timberwolves, who they beat in the season opener.
