MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

More charges have been filed against the Shelby County District Attorney stemming from her role in a 2009 murder trial.

DA Amy Weirich and assistant DA Stephen P. Jones face ethics violations due to procedural problems during the Noura Jackson trial.

The new charges accuse Weirich of not fulfilling her responsibility as lead prosecutor to review all of the evidence.

One piece of evidence Weirich said she never saw was a statement from a key witness. That statement, and it not being part of the trial, is why assistant DA Jones is facing trial for an ethics violation.

Jackson was convicted of killing her mother in 2005. After serving 11 years in prison, she was granted a retrial and was set free after accepting an Alford Plea.

The retrial happened after the Tennessee Supreme Court's board of professional responsibility said Jones failed to turn over vital evidence about an important witness in Jackson's case.
