Kroger is opening a 60,000 square foot grocery store on Union Avenue. 

The store has some exciting features that have all of Midtown Memphis talking, and there are some money-saving details you should know about before you shop.

First, get a Kroger Plus card. Nearly every Kroger shopper knows this trick, but it's still important to emphasize. You don't have to pay for this card. You just register and start raking in the savings.

"All you have to do is stop by a Guest Cares desk and ask for a Kroger Plus card," Kroger Public Affairs Manager Teresa Dickerson said.

With a Kroger Plus card, you can create a account. On that website, you can upload digital coupons that you won't find in the store. You should also log in every Friday and accept a Free Friday Download--which you'll have a week to redeem.

Your Kroger Plus card lets you earn one fuel point for every $1 you spend. Stock up on those points and you can get $0.03, $0.05, or even $0.20 off every gallon of gas you buy at Kroger.

Also keep an eye out for Kroger double points offers. Those will help you increase your points faster.

Be on the lookout for the Manager's Special. It's usually a section in the back of the store where you'll find clearance items that have been overstocked or damaged. 

Customers who use EBT or Food Stamps can get 50 percent off of produce at three Kroger locations: 3860 Austin Peay Highway, 2632 Frayser Boulevard, and 5995 Stage Road in Bartlett.
