MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

It appeared to be a casual, ordinary trip to the grocery store. But, Kroger wants to find the man that robbed the store at gunpoint.

The man was seen walking into the Kroger location on Shelby Drive. Surveillance cameras caught images of the man at the Service Counter, where Kroger security officials said he showed the female employee a gun in his waist band and demanded money.

"I'm sure this was very traumatic for her," shopper Shavon Holt said.

Natasha Hicks, who shops at the store, said she doesn't shop alone.

"A lot of stuff that is going on. I think they need metal detectors," Hicks said.

Hicks has a 6-year-old son, Jayden, and the thought of a robbery at the Kroger in the middle of the day is terrifying.

"It's scary. It's real scary that you have to be scared to go shopping in public," Hicks said.

As casually as he walked in, after the employee reportedly handed over the cash, the man was seen walking out.

He is still on the streets of Memphis.

Hicks said the only safeguard against crime like this is to pray.
