MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Are you ready to go big for a Mid-South boy or girl in need of a mentor? WMC Action News 5 is teaming up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mid-South to provide mentors for dozens of local kids who just need a little guidance to reach their full potential.

Most of the kids on the waiting list are boys, like 5-year-old Jayden, who says he loves to learn.

His favorite learning activity: sight words.

"Am. My. Like. See. Hear," he said, while pointing to the words.

Jayden likes to sing, too.

While in front of our cameras, he recited a song he learned at school that goes something like this, "We go to get some knowledge 'cause everybody knows that we're going to go to college."

Like most 5-year-olds, Jayden loves to have fun.

"I can kick the ball and it kind of makes me happy."

He knows exactly what he wants from a Big Brother.

“I want to go to the Memphis Tigers game because I want to have fun with my Big Brother. U of M! We're the Tigers!  We're the Tigers. Roar!" he said.

Jayden loves sports and loves talking about his favorite teams, the Ravens and the Tigers.

And he already knows what he wants to be when he grows up.

"I want to be a super hero. My name would be Boy Wonder.  My powers would be, I would wonder where things are at and I would have super speed and I would stick to walls and stuff and I would have laser eyes," he said.

If there's room in your heart to go big for Jayden, get connected to Big Brothers Big Sisters by clicking here. There are more than 100 children waiting for a chance to have a mentor and a friend.
