Marshals find GA murder suspect in Memphis

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

United States Marshals caught a first-degree murder suspect from Georgia in Memphis.

According to the U.S. Marshals, a task force caught Marlin Rooks in Memphis as he tried to evade a first-degree murder charge.

Rooks is accused of shooting Kiana Kirk in the face on September 10, killing her. The shooting happened in Clarkston, Georgia, near Atlanta.

A warrant was issued for Rooks' arrest on September 14.

Friday, investigators found Rooks in a house on Stage Road in Memphis.  He was arrested and taken to Shelby County jail, where he's waiting to be extradited back to Georgia.
