MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Three juveniles and two adults have been injured as the result of a car crash at Union Avenue and Pauline Street.

It appears two vehicles crashed and a child was trapped underneath one of the vehicles. Memphis police officers said a vehicle was trying to turn onto Pauline Street from Union Avenue while another vehicle was coming down Union Avenue.

One of the vehicles hit three pedestrians in the area. Three children were taken to the hospital in non-critical condition. One adult pedestrian was also taken in non-critical condition to the hospital, plus an adult motorist was taken in non-critical condition.

The girl who was trapped underneath one of the vehicles appeared to be alert on the scene as first responders placed her into an ambulance.

We are told by a close family friend that three girls, between the ages of 7-9, were walking on the sidewalk. They live near the area. The two cars crashed and one of those cars jumped the curb and hit the group of girls.

The family friend said the girls were innocent and were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
