MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A high school football coach was suspended five days without pay following an investigation into grade discrepancies for players.

Trezevant High School learned September 29 that the football team would have to forfeit football games because of grade discrepancies. The school's principal and staff discovered the grading issues during a routine audit. They immediately reported them to the proper authorities.

Five days later TSSAA said it had completed its investigation into the team. TSSAA said the school had committed no violations, and the football team would be allowed to compete once again.

Shelby County Schools continued investigating the case. November 7, SCS said head coach Teli White would be suspended for five days without pay.

SCS did not clarify what/if any violations were found during its investigation.
